A controlled trial defines the road section, reference area, surface preparation, traffic, weather, application equipment and observation period before treatment begins. The operation and AEI agree which dust, watering, surface-condition and maintenance indicators will be recorded. Dosage and application frequency are confirmed only after reviewing the road material, water, climate and operating constraints.
Traffic, loads and gradients
Vehicle loads, traffic frequency, speed and road geometry are recorded as operating variables.
Weather and water availability
Weather, water quality, current watering practice and maintenance demand form part of the baseline.
